YCX #2

YCX DATELINE HOUSTON 9-10-2009 – It was an ominous multi colored radar image that had lines of rain marching in from the west, but the YettiNation turned out to do what they do best. Get muddy and race cyclocross in steamy Houston Texas. With the bridge construction turning the concrete path to a slippery ice rink, the damp matted Yetti and YettiKrew decided to forgo the rough road ride up.

In the Junior group Audrey Manchester riding for the nights sponsor Sun and Ski pulled off another V over hard fighting Max Molthen.

Lee Netherly from the Bike Barn squad powered through the slippery muck to garner the V over Julia Jenkins who returned the punishment dished out to her last week by Catherine Moritz.

Kevin Koen continued his precise and continuous pound of the Men’s A group dishing out the punishment over ten laps. Nathen Winkelman chased Kevin’s wake through the mud and down the slippery z turns, but came up short. Wally Gorda representing the dirtied up the Bike Barn colors and turned in a 3 place showing for his first YettiCross of the year.

The B’s mixed it up through the slippery slopes with Mary Hodge dishing out the mucky skills lessons to the B Men. Scott Minard chased hard through the light drizzle and grassy slopes keeping his lead on Paul Allen

C Class received it’s two newest B class upgrade from the night Max Jordan and Joseph Chapman. Since C class at YettiCross is designed for beginner racers time to go mix it up with bigger boys and women in the B class. Gordon Richardson chased hard to pull down a third place.
