The Vail Recreation District celebrated 25 years of mountain bike racing in Vail in 2008 with the 25th Anniversary Davos Dash. Throughout the six-race series, over 1,521 riders competed for $5,200 in cash and $30,000 in prizes. The 2009 series returned June 10, offering mountain bikers of all ages and experience levels fun and exciting racing in the Vail Valley.
GEAR GRINDER MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE
The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring an off road mountain bike race on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Registration starts at 8:45am at Pipestem Creek Trail, located next to the Pipestem Dam, 4 miles North of Jamestown just off Highway 281. The race is open to anyone who would like to test his or her mountain biking skills. With four divisions of off road racing (Beginner’s,Recreational, Sport and Expert) you’re sure to find a race that will fit your skill level.
Valmont Bike Park Welcome to the Valmont Bike Park, a destination being crafted specifically for you, the cycling enthusiast. Located in the cycling epicenter of the United States, Boulder, Colorado, this multi-discipline cycling park is being designed by some of the finest trail builders in the United States to support a vast array of trail networks created for their respective disciplines. Epic single-track for the mountain biker, rhythmic pump tracks for BMX enthusiasts, and cyclocross circuits designed in the style of the best courses in Belgium will be free for all to experience and allow any skill level to enjoy from beginner to expert, child to senior citizen. As a top level project of the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance, Valmont Bike Park is being created through the partnering and cooperation of the City of Boulder Parks and Recreation, the International Mountain Biking Association and their trail building resources and expertise, and, most importantly, members of the Boulder community at large who have volunteered massive labor, management, and financial support to the Park. The BikeReg.com MABRAcross race, which is promoted by the Howard County Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with Lateral Stress Velo, holds a unique place in American racing history. The 2nd Annual MooseCross festival is taking place in Victor, Idaho (neighbor to Jackson, WY) on October 17th and 18th. Our event features two days of racing on our permanent cross course in our city park. Saturday night we have rented out the old theater and will show footage from that days race and a cyclocross movie. Come watch yourself on the big screen Saturday night with a slice of pizza and a cold beer. Crazed cyclocross announcers, cowbell equipped fanatic fans, and we are even printing up custom course marking tape! It will be like you are racing in Europe.
Host housing is available and we are offering a travel discount - Travel from over 100 miles away and receive $5 back at registration.
MooseCross is run under our non-profit Victor Velo. We do not profit from this event. Our goal is to make cross racing fun, accessible, and affordable . All proceeds go back into putting on more cross races and promoting bike activities in Victor.
